Organic Barley flour has a mild, distinctive and very slightly nutty flavour.

Traditionally Organic Barley flour was widely used for Malting and brewing and also, in the baking of bannocks, griddle breads, and sometimes mixed with Organic Rye to make a Organic Maslin loaf. Organic Barley flour can be used in making crepes or in normal baking where you can replace up to 50% of the wheat flour with barley. Organic Barley Flour contains a lower level of gluten than wheat, and as a result Organic Barley flour doughs will not rise in the same way as Wheat dough. It is excellent for thickening stews and soups.
